In this part of the Practices section you will find resources and ways to engage in the specific practice of Fasting. Fasting is intentionally opening yourself to God by letting go of something in your life that controls you. Your emptiness is a reminder to turn to Jesus who alone can satisfy.
Practices
Daily
- Live with one less thing. Each day for 40 days, get rid of one thing from your life. This could be an event, a possession, a habit, or something else. Get creative.
- For 40 days, fast from something that tends to draw your attention away from God. During this time set the intention to hear from God about whatever big decision you need to make
Weekly
- Participate in Red Rocks Church 21 Day Fast. Choose one thing right now and decide to fast from it today. Remember that can be a meal, sugar, caffeine, social media, or whatever else feels right.
Monthly
- Intentionally abstain from using your phone for 1 hour a day, 1 week a week, and one week a year. During this time, discover what it means to be more present with the things going on around you.
