Overview
In October 2016, Red Rocks Church sent a group from the United States to Belgium to launch its first international location just outside of Brussels. The Red Rocks Church Brussels Campus began meeting at St. John’s International School, Waterloo. What started as a big dream many years ago has turned into a church family with a congregation of approximately three hundred. Now at the seven year mark, and having made it through the COVID Pandemic, the Brussels Campus is entering a new phase of growth and maturity. To this end, the Brussels Campus is seeking a Campus Pastor to lead and grow the Red Rocks Church Brussels Campus.
The ideal candidate will lead the Brussels Campus and exemplify the mission, vision, and values of Red Rocks Church – to make heaven more crowded by helping people know God, live on purpose, and change the world. As the Brussels Campus is Red Rocks’ only campus outside of the USA, the Campus Pastor will have a higher level of autonomy in their work than their U.S.-based peers. While they will regularly engage with the Red Rocks Church staff in the United States, the Campus Pastor will lead a dedicated, local team of staff, small group leaders, and volunteers.
The Campus Pastor must demonstrate both a heart for people and an eagerness to start and implement initiatives that grow the campus. On the one hand, they will be expected to provide pastoral care to a diverse congregation of both Belgians (primarily French- but also some Dutch-speaking) and international expatriates. On the other, they will also be responsible for the Campus’ financial health. While the ideal candidate would be a very capable communicator/preacher, the focus for this role is primarily leadership and shepherding of the congregation rather than teaching and preaching (most sermons are delivered through video by Red Rocks Church’s teaching pastors in the United States).
